LTP Year 1 Science online teaching plans help students learn how to infer simple cause-and-effect relationships from their observations and experiences. They will begin to link events and phenomena with observable effects and to ask questions. Through four units—Living Things, Changing Materials, Earth and Sky and Light and Sound—students will explore the properties of familiar objects and phenomena, identifying similarities and differences and developing a greater understanding of the world.

Each unit in Year 1 Science focuses on one or more key inquiry questions, including:

• Unit 1—What are the external features of living things used for?
• Unit 2—How can we change materials to suit different uses?
• Unit 3—How do changes to the sky and Earth affect humans, animals and plants?
• Unit 4—How are light and sound made?

The Year 1 Science worksheets provided are designed to help students explore these concepts in a more practical way to improve their understanding and develop their knowledge. These are able to be completed digitally, or printed and distributed, making them ideal for both classroom and remote learning.
